About Us

Hamza Masjid was established in 1999 by a group of Muslims in the park dale neighborhood which is a community of about 1,000 Muslim families. Ever since the Masjid has been established Muslims in the neighborhood offer daily salat including Friday salat and salat of Tarawih during the blessed month of Ramadan. Hamza Masjid also conducts week-end classes of Islamic studies for children.

Hamza Masjid is registered as a charitable organization as per the Canadian income tax law. To this effect, a bank account is maintained in order to deposit donations and to pay for various expenses. Furthermore the Masjid operates on a self-finance basis and is recognized as a Trust. A committee was formed to manage the daily affairs and to administer the finances of the Masjid. The Masjid account is properly documented and is subject to verification by all the community members at any given time.

Masha-Allah, the Muslim community in this area has grown considerably in this area since 1999. The Masjid premises are not enough to accommodate all Muslim brother specially for Juma salat and Tarawih during the month of Ramadan.

Hamza Masjid is the only source of Islamic education for Muslim community in Parkdale neighbourhood and this community needs have also grown over the years. The current premises are limited in its space and facilities to hold and accommodate classes of Islamic studies for this community.

The community largely composed of new immigrants and low-income families have generously contributed despite their constraints to maintain the masjid over the years. keeping all these factors in mind, the Muslim community living in parkdale is planning to purchase the existing space. We have setup a donation account in order to raise funds to fulfill the present and future needs of our Muslim community.

We started the new project in May 2005 to buy the existing masjid and islamic education Centre and now are engaged in fund raising activities within the community. Alhamdulillah Hamza Masjid has now been bought for $1.2 million on July 31, 2015 with all your help and support. Alhamdulillah Masjid is now debt free.

We are now planning to buy the adjacent store front so we can expand Hamza Masjid and have extended hall of prayers and ladies section and madrasah In-sha-Allah. We need to raise $1.5 Million to accomplish this cause. Please donate generously!!!
